What is ottb horse?

OTTB stands for "Off-The-Track Thoroughbred." These are thoroughbred horses that have retired from their racing careers, either because of age or injury, and are now available for adoption or sale as riding horses.

OTTBs are well-known for their athleticism, energy, and intelligence. They are versatile and excel in many different disciplines, including jumping, dressage, eventing, and trail riding. They typically have a good work ethic and are eager to please their riders.

However, because they come from a high-intensity racing background, OTTBs may require a period of adjustment in their new role as riding horses. They may need to learn new skills and behaviors, such as standing still for mounting and dismounting.

That being said, with proper training and care, OTTBs can make excellent riding horses and lifelong companions. Many riders enjoy the challenge and reward of working with these intelligent and athletic animals.
